Andrew Gunn Wife Jane Bellamy Gunn Mourns Disney Producer’s Death at 56
March 2, 2026 — Toronto Andrew Gunn, a veteran Disney film producer behind hits like Freaky Friday and Sky High, died at his home here at age 56 after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He is survived by Andrew Gunn wife Jane Bellamy Gunn, their children Isabelle and Connor, mother Anne Gunn, and siblings Hilary Knight, Graeme Gunn, and Cameron Gunn.
Gunn, born July 15, 1969, in Toronto, was diagnosed with Bulbar-onset ALS in September 2025 after experiencing symptoms for more than two years, according to Andrew Gunn wife Jane Bellamy Gunn, who spoke to USA Today.

Career Highlights
Gunn founded Gunn Films in 2001 with an exclusive deal at Walt Disney Pictures, producing family comedies including Freaky Friday (2003), which he pitched and which starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, its sequel Freakier Friday (2025), Sky High (2005), The Haunted Mansion (2003), Cruella (2021), Bedtime Stories (2008), and Race to Witch Mountain (2009), per The Hollywood Reporter and Los Angeles Times.
Earlier, he worked at John Hughes’ Great Oaks Entertainment on 101 Dalmatians (1996), 102 Dalmatians (2000), and Flubber (1997). Gunn also launched the Disney Writers Program in 2001 to mentor emerging talent.
His children Isabelle and Connor worked on the set of Freakier Friday, with Isabelle in the camera department and Connor in props, as Gunn shared in a 2025 statement.
